Mobile app development

Apps for iPhone and Android, built together with the web services and data they depend on.

What we build

  • The app and what's behind it

Most apps need more than screens: accounts, a database, an API, payments and an admin area. We build the back end and its hosting alongside the app, as one piece of work.

  • iPhone and Android

Apps for both platforms, released through the App Store and Google Play, with the store listings, sign-in and review steps that involves.

  • One set of data for app and web

Where you also have a website or web app, the mobile app shares its API and accounts, so people see the same information wherever they sign in.

  • Accessible from the start

Screen readers (VoiceOver and TalkBack), larger text sizes and good contrast are part of building each screen, not a fix at the end.

Questions

Do we need separate apps for iPhone and Android?

Not usually. One codebase can produce both apps, which keeps the cost of changes down. We'll suggest separate native apps only where a feature needs it.

Can the app work with our existing website or system?

Yes, if the system has an API or we can add one. Sharing accounts and data with the web is one of the first things we plan.
